Chinese exporters see endless trade war as orders drop – FT

China’s exporters aren’t differing from a slew of global analysts that expect no breakthrough from the US-China trade negotiations.

The Financial Times (FT) conducted a survey of 200 Chinese exporting companies and the results indicate that 40% saying the trade war marks the permanent state of the Sino-US relationship, up from just 7% in March.

The news report from FT further mentions that this sharp rise reflects the collapse of talks in May, and a subsequent hardening of positions since then. In March, more than three-quarters of respondents were expecting a resolution within six or 12 months.

FX implications

Despite being a non-mover, the news has its own importance to signify the market sentiment concerning the key two-day trade negotiations in Beijing.
