ECB forecasters raise GDP and HICP estimates higher

FXStreet (Mumbai) - The ECB’s professional forecasters in their latest quarterly report commissioned by the ECB have raised 2016 GDP forecasts. Inflation forecasts for 2015 and 2016 were revised higher.

The 2015 GDP forecast is kept unchanged at 1.4%. The 2016 forecast is revised higher to 1.8% from 1.6%, while 2017 forecast is kept unchanged at 1.8%.

Meanwhile, the HICP inflation forecast for 2015 is revised higher to 0.2% from 0.1%. Forecast for 2016 is also revised higher to 1.3% from 1.2%. The 2017 forecast is kept unchanged at 1.6%, while long term inflation forecast is revised higher to 1.9% from 1.8%.

US CPI is the main release today – Danske Bank

As per Danske Bank analysts, the US CPI is the most important release for the day, followed by US housing starts and Fed vice chairman Fisher’s speech.
