Stocks jump in Wall Street but end week with losses
FXStreet (Córdoba) - US equities posted strong gains on Friday and recovered further after falling sharply on Wednesday. The Dow Jones rose 1.63% (the first gain after falling in the previous six days), the Nasdaq climbed 0.96% and the S&P 500 gained 1.30%.
On Friday, volatility remained low compared to Wednesday and Thursday, but it was another day with indexes moving over 1%. After a strong opening, prices remained steady consolidating gains during the rest of the day.
Despite the rally, main indexes ended the week in negative, with losses of more than 2%. Fears about the global economy weight on stocks but later expectations about economic stimulus helped price erase losses.
