Letta urges EU to act on youth unemployment
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - In his speech before the Senate in Rome today, Italian PM Enrico Letta urged EU officials to increase their efforts to spur growth and employment in the area, as a failure to do so might lead to an implosion.
"I have the impression that the EU cannot keep going as it has up to today, with timidness or a lack of decisions," Letta said. "As things are, I don't think it can hold up and the people will be the ones who make it implode the next time they vote."
The Italian PM stressed that youth unemployment was the most urgent problem and that it should be dealt with as soon as possible.
